Cavalry Bag

This bag is our interpretation of the historic saddle bags used by the US Cavalry during the American Civil War. We constructed it from two main elements with ‘signature’ twin leather straps that loop through the main flap. This achieves a very robust and secure closure using solid brass buckles. It also has a padded rear section for up to a 14 inch laptop. The design incorporates a foam layer to retain the bag’s unique shape and has two outer and two inner YKK zipped pockets for stowing valuables. All pockets are accessed through slashed leather openings, which are set inside the inner (or outer) linings. All our bags are made with individually selected printed gloss Java kitenge lining. The buckles, spring clips and other brassware are made by local artisans from recycled brass.
